Psoriasis Disease
Psoriasis is a chronic condition that causes skin rashes (Psoriasis) or non contagious disorder which affects the skin and joints. It commonly causes red scaly patches to appear on the skin (by National Psoriasis Foundation). Psoriasis is a chronic disease of the immune system that appears on the skin, usually up to 30 % with Psoriasis also develops Psoriasis arthritis.
There are a few type of Psoriasis can be category:
Plaque Psoriasis
Common form of Psoriasis, affects 80% to 90% of people Psoriasis. Plaque Psoriasis typically appears as rose of inflamed, skin covered with silvery white scaly skin
Flexural Psoriasis
Appears as smooth inflamed patches of skin. It occurs in skin folds, particularly around the genitals
Psoriasis Arthritis
Involves joints and connective tissue inflammations
What is Psoriasis Arthritis?
It is a chronic condition that causes skin rashes (Psoriasis) and joints inflammation. This Psoriasis can occur at any age, but this normally happen between ages of 35 to 55 years. Not everyone that diagnosis Psoriasis will develop Psoriasis arthritis; usually approximately 10% to 30% of patient Psoriasis suffering arthritis.
However for precaution factors, all Psoriasis patients advise to go for joint treatment or for checking their joints. Data have indicated that Psoriasis arthritis is more severe than initially thought. The affects of this Psoriasis arthritis can be seen in early stage. Psoriasis arthritis often involves the knee, ankle and joints in the foot. The Psoriasis patient experience pain, swelling, redness and warmth over the joints
Type of Psoriasis arthritis
Symmetric; 50% of case affects joints on both side of body simultaneously
Asymmetric; this type affects around 35% of patients and is generally mild. This type does not occur in the same joints on the both side of body
